Atlanta Homes Still Affordable, But That Is Rapidly Changing

The metro Atlanta real estate market still is considered to be affordable. That is changing quickly.

The Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta metro area scored 117.6 for the month of April in the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s Home Ownership Affordability Monitor Index. Any score above 100 is considered to be affordable.

Atlanta’s real estate market was more affordable than the national average in April. The national market scored 96.4, an unaffordable rating.

As metro Atlanta home prices accelerate, affordability is quickly declining.
