Founder Ron Roberts says "Audio GayTL" aims to be a new platform to highlight Atlanta's diverse LGBTQ+ voices.

A longtime Atlanta radio professional recently launched a new streaming station meant to cater to the city’s LGBTQ+ community.

Ron Roberts created Audio GayTL, a streaming audio station focused on local queer voices, music, and community.

Instead of mainstream playlists and long commercial breaks, Roberts said he wants Audio GayTL to offer curated song choices that appeal to Atlanta’s diverse LGBTQ+ community, as well as short local ads, and on-air segments aimed at uplifting and connecting Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ residents.

Roberts is currently the sole host but hopes to grow the platform with more voices and partnerships with LGBTQ+ nonprofits.

He said he doesn’t just want it to be about music — but to be more like a public town hall.

The Audio GayTL app is available to download for Android and iPhone, or can be streamed online from iHeartRadio and AudioGayTL.com.
