The Atlanta Board of Education voted unanimously to extend Superintendent Dr. Bryan Johnson’s contract by one year.

Johnson began serving as the Atlanta Public Schools superintendent in August of last year. Monday’s school board vote extends his contract to July 2028.

Under Johnson’s tenure, the district has focused on improving academic outcomes by ensuring the curriculum aligns with state testing standards.
