Starting the new year off with a little challenge is an age-old tradition. Most of us do it in the form of a resolution, but, if you’re a comedian performing at the “50 First Jokes” showcase, your task is to present a new, completely fresh, untested set in front of a live audience … in under two minutes.
Atlanta’s best comics are taking up this challenge on Jan. 6 at Wild Heaven West End Brewery. In this interview, “City Lights” managing producer Kim Drobes spoke with comedian and event organizer Joe Pettis about the event “50 First Jokes.”
“I like that it puts both the comics and the audience a little on edge, and it really puts you in the moment,” Pettis said.
