Bluesman B.B. King Influenced Musicians Across Genres

Rose Scott and H Johnson discussed the life and influence of legendary blues guitarist B.B. King on ''A Closer Look.''

Legendary blues musician B.B. King influenced so many artists during his long career and wooed so many audiences with his distinctive sound and mastery of his beloved guitar Lucille.

Lucille was silenced for good with King’s death last Thursday at the age of 89 at his home in Las Vegas. But even in his later years, while battling diabetes, King still spent about half the year on the road.

“He was not only a great blues artist, he was very influential – extremely influential – to the point where even blues guitarists after B.B. started playing guitar the way he played it. Blues guitarists picked up on that style and you can’t play the blues now without paying tribute to B.B. King,” “Blues Classics” host H Johnson said during a conversation with Rose Scott.

H Johnson discussed King, his influence, his career and more “A Closer Look.”
