Georgia State University head football coach Bill Curry announced his retirement last week. Curry, who’s in his 20th year of coaching, and his 3rd at Georgia State, has had a long career as a college and pro player, college coach, and TV sports analyst. He’s also a metro Atlanta native. In part 1 of a conversation with WABE’s Denis O’Hayer, Curry talked about his high expectations, the pressure to win, and how educational institutions can restore control after scandals like the one at Penn State.
