Falcons Woes Begins With Ryan Big Toe

Atlanta, GA – The Atlanta Falcons aren't exactly out of the running for a playoff spot but the team must start winning.

And as WABE's Rose Scott reports it all may depend on quarterback Matt Ryan's big toe:

It's called turf toe and it hurts really really bad.

That's the injury that has Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan listed as a game time decision in terms of whether or not he'll play Sunday.

Sports writer Josh Bagrinsky of Score Atlanta Sports Magazine says that little injury is very big deal:

((just think about your big toe, you're trying to plant or a three drop step and it's an injury that basically hampers your effectiveness))

Ryan's injury is just one of many the Falcons have had to endure running back Michael Turner is also out.

The Falcons take on an undefeated New Orleans team this Sunday at the Georgia Dome.
