A metro Atlanta family says they returned home from holiday travel to find their locks changed and a man living inside.

WSB-TV quotes Janice Henson in a Saturday report as saying she called Cobb County police when the key wouldn’t turn and a man came to the door. Henson says they were returning Wednesday when the man told her to leave and that it’s his home now.

Police say 26-year-old Nathaniel Jacob Nuckols threatened to shoot at officers and was arrested after a five-hour standoff. A SWAT team sent a robot to locate him, but didn’t find a weapon.

Henson says thank-you notes were left, drawers emptied and their food was gone.

Jail records say Nuckols was apprehended on charges including burglary and terroristic threats. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer who could comment.
