Darlene Chaney says her brother, Cornelius Taylor, was an amazing human being who stood for justice and happiness.

Taylor, who was unhoused, died on Jan. 16. According to authorities, he was inside a tent in a homeless encampment along Old Wheat Street in the Auburn Avenue neighborhood, near Ebenezer Baptist Church, when he was struck by an Atlanta Department of Public Works front loader.

Wednesday’s special edition of “Closer Look” focused on Taylor’s death and challenges in transitioning unhoused people living in encampments into social services programs.
