It’s been two years since the January 6th insurrection at the US Capitol. The House of Representatives held a moment of silence this morning to honor the victims of the violent attack.

President Biden held a ceremony to honor those who upheld the results of the 2020 presidential election.

For “Closer Look’s” first Feedback Friday of 2023, Rose talks with Dr. Catherine Meeks, the executive director of the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing.

Meek reflected on the insurrection and her latest book ‘The Night Is Long But Light Comes in the Morning: Mediations for Racial Healing.’

During the conversation, Rose and Meek took calls from show listeners who reflected on how far the U.S. has come since the insurrection and what else needs to be done to heal the nation. Listeners also answered the question: “How do you define racial healing?”
