The First Emperor – China’s Terracotta Army

“The First Emperor, China's Terracotta Army” goes on view this Sunday but over 90-thousand reservation have already been made. The High museum says it could be the most popular exhibition they have ever held.

– The display at the High Museum features relics from China's very first emperor that date back to 221 BC. The exhibit includes 100 works, including 15 life-sized terracotta warriors. The figures are a fraction of the thousands that were uncovered in China about 35 years ago. Typically the relics and figures from Qin Shihuangdi are a huge draw for museums. In London the exhibit of the Terracotta Army was the second most attended exhibit in the history of the British Museum. The only exhibit to surpass it was a display of Egyptian antiquities in the early 1970s. WABE's David Barasoain has this story.
