Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis can continue prosecuting the Georgia election interference case only if special prosecutor Nathan Wade resigns.

This news comes as Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee ruled Willis’ romantic relationship with Wade was not a disqualifying conflict of interest under Georgia law.

On Friday, WABE politics reporters Sam Gringlas  and Rahul Bali returned to “Closer Look.” First, Gringlas reported on McAfee’s ruling and discussed whether former President Donald Trump’s attorneys could file an appeal.

Then, Bali discussed several topics, including the latest news at the state capitol as the 2024 Georgia legislative session ends.

He also discussed several bills before Georgia lawmakers, House Minority Leader James Beverly’s decision not to seek another term and what lawmakers are saying about Rivian’s decision to pause plans for a new manufacturing facility in Georgia.
