Gov. Brian Kemp signed House Bill 30 on Wednesday afternoon. The bill defines antisemitism as criticism of the Israeli government and has officially been signed into law.
Ahead of the signing ceremony, WABE politics reporter Rahul Bali returned to “Closer Look” to discuss the bill — and its potential implications on how hate crimes and discrimination cases are prosecuted.
During the discussion, Bali also discussed how lawmakers are remembering the lives of three Army Reserve soldiers killed in Jordan, State Rep. and House Rules Committee Chairman Richard Smith and Georgia State Patrol trooper Jimmy Cenescar —who all died this week.
