Georgia’s Price Seeks Senate Appointment After Health And Human Services Downfall

Former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price has submitted an application to Georgia Republican Gov. Brian Kemp seeking appointment to the U.S. Senate, Kemp spokesman Cody Hall confirmed Thursday. Price is an orthopedic surgeon from Atlanta’s northern suburbs who represented Georgia’s 6th Congressional District from 2005 to 2017.

Former Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price is seeking a return ticket to Washington nearly two years after being ousted from his Cabinet post for excessive travel spending.

Price has submitted an application to Georgia Republican Gov. Brian Kemp seeking appointment to the U.S. Senate, Kemp spokesman Cody Hall confirmed Thursday.

Kemp will soon get to pick a replacement for retiring Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson, who is stepping down in December because of health issues.
