Gone with the Wind at 70

On this day back in 1939 a best-selling book made its debut on the silver screen.

– The book, Gone with the Wind, is the only novel ever written by Atlanta native Margaret Mitchell. The story is set here in Atlanta and in Jonesboro Georgia in and around the time of the Civil War. The Pulitzer Prize winning book made its leap to the screen 70 years ago today in Atlanta and at least one person remembers it well.
