GSU’s director of the Economic Forecasting Center discusses the state of the U.S. economy

Dr. Rajeev Dhawan, the director of Georgia State University’s Economic Forecasting Center, says the economy is slowing—and the most recent jobs report only shows growth in hospitality, health care and education.

On Friday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Dhawan talked with program host Rose Scott about skyrocketing inflation, the Federal Reserve’s move to hike interest rates and the overall state of the economy.

During the conversation, he explained more layoffs are coming down the pipeline in middle-management white-collar jobs and said that the probability of a recession is two-thirds.
