'Happy Days' actor Henry Winkler discusses new book 'Being Henry: The Fonz...and Beyond' in Atlanta
Fifty years ago, Henry Winkler auditioned for a part in the sitcom, “Happy Days,” which would take its place in entertainment history.
His role was that of Arthur Fonzarelli, also known as “The Fonz,” a guy who was supremely confident. Winkler himself was confident of very little, except when he was acting.
A hilarious account of that audition opens the actor’s new memoir “Being Henry: The Fonz…and Beyond.”
In this interview, the multi-Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes ahead of his author talk in Atlanta at the Marcus Jewish Community Center Book Festival.
“I could play in the sound ‘Eeeyyyy,’ ‘I’m hungry, or Hey, You’re beautiful, or Don’t mess with me,’ just by giving the sound an attitude,” Winkler recalled.
The 78-year-old actor, author and producer will be in Atlanta on Sunday supporting his new book, “Being Henry: The Fonz…and Beyond,” as part of the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta Book Festival.
