Hosea Feed the Hungry Short on Supplies; Needs Donations

{description}

Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless expects a big turnout Thursday for its 43rd annual Thanksgiving Day meal.

But, with just a few days before the big event, the charity needs help.

The organization is still running short on some crucial supplies: it needs several hundred more turkeys and roasting pans to in which to cook the dressing.

Also short so far this year: donations of toiletries, underwear, and socks. The annual event at the World Congress Center offers more than just a meal. It offers haircuts and grooming, medical treatment, and pastoral counseling.

This year, the state Department of Labor will also be there to offer job counseling.

According to Chief Operating Officer Afemo Omilami, it is expected that at least 10,000 people in need will come to the World Congress Center Thursday for the free meals and services.

“Many people have lost their jobs this year, and what it did was force many people to come seek help from us that never would come to us before,” said Omilami. “We’re expecting more families than ever before because whole families have been displaced.”

Omilami says the best way to donate items to the organization is to take them directly to the offices of Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless in West End at 1035 Donnelly Avenue SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30310. If you would like to donate money, you can do so through the organization’s website: www.4hosea.org.
