List Of Summer Events For Teens, Provided By VOX ATL
Summer is approaching. School’s out. And many teens — and their parents — may be looking for events to fill that free time. VOX ATL’s Toyin Williams has you covered with her list of summer events in Atlanta for teenagers.

If you are like me, then you don’t like to stay in the house. Especially around the summertime when you know there is stuff to do but don’t know when or where it’s happening.
To help us both out, I came up with this quick list to keep you out, about and entertained all summerlong.
June Events
There is a Caribbean workout starting June 7 at the BeltLine EVERY THURSDAY from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for those of you who want to stay fit this summer. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/caribbean-workout-tickets-43537349384
This event has already started, but there is also yoga in Woodruff Park in the main yard every Saturday morning from 9-10 a.m. You have to bring your own yoga mat and bottle of water. https://www.atlantadowntown.com/sustainability/Green_Space/Yoga
On June 8-10, there is the Southern Fried Game Room gaming expo that has 250 games, vendors, movies and more. http://southernfriedgameroomexpo.com/
On June 15 -17, there is a Juneteenth festival at Morris Brown College. http://www.juneteenthatl.com/

July Events
I’m sure you all know that there will be plenty of Fourth of July events happening, but the best possible one for teens is the July 4th fireworks event at Six Flags. https://www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/special-events/july-4th-fest
On July 6-7, the Synchronicity Theatre is having a short film fest with different genres to entertain all people. All movies will be under 45 minutes. http://www.atlantashortsfest.com/
On July 14, there will be a field day in the historic Old Fourth Ward Park, and to play all you have to do is bring eight people and sign up and win prizes. https://www.atlfieldday.com/
On July 19-21, there is the Atlanta Underground Film Festival, also at the Synchronicity Theatre. http://www.auff.org/schedule.html

August Events
On Aug. 4, there is a soapbox derby race that will be held in Old Fourth Ward Park, where you can compete and win prizes. http://cooldadsrock.com/events.html
Lakewood Amphitheatre is hosting a flashback music festival on Aug. 11 for all the teens with old souls who really love throwback music. https://www.vividseats.com/concerts/flashback-festival-tickets.html
Piedmont Park is having an arts festival with 250 painters, photographers, jewelry and more on Aug. 18-19. http://piedmontparkartsfestival.com/
On Aug. 25-26, Grant Park is also having a festival with two music stages, food vendors and even a 5k run. http://www.summershadefestival.org/
