As a new generation of ambitious independent films grace the big screens at this year’s Atlanta Film Festival, one new feature poses the question – just how far will a filmmaker go to see their vision through?

In Atlanta-based co-directors John Dierre and Ryan Dutter’s original psycho-thriller drama “Meta Take One,” a young, obsessive director finds himself and his crew implicated in a crime and begins a harrowing journey to finish the film at all costs. “Meta Take One” screens at the Plaza Theatre for the Atlanta Film Festival on April 25.

Dierre and Dutter joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to discuss their film, which was entirely shot in Atlanta.

“We were trying to showcase the chaos of filmmaking with the obsession. Like what would you do when you bring all of your meaning into this piece?” said Dierre. Dutter added, “When you’re starting at the bottom, you really have to be obsessed with seeing your project through, you have to be willing to starve a little bit, you have to be willing to suffer.”
