Dan Corso, the president of the Atlanta Sports Council at Metro Atlanta Chamber, says Atlanta will soon become one of two cities in the nation to host a FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted in three countries: Canada, Mexico and the U.S. Atlanta is one of 11 cities in the U.S. that will host games of the massive international sporting event.

On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Corso told program host Rose Scott that all of the soccer events will be held in downtown Atlanta at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Corso also talked about preparations for the  World Cup and the lessons learned from the 1996 Olympic Games.
