A jury has been selected in the trial of Colin Gray, whose teenage son is accused of fatally shooting two students and two teachers and injuring nine others at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, on Sept. 4, 2024.
Opening statements are set to begin on Monday, with the entire trial expected to last through the end of the month. While the jury was selected out of Hall County, the trial itself will take place in Barrow County, just a few miles from the school.
Authorities claim Gray gave his son the AR-15 rifle that was used in the shooting for Christmas, and then failed to keep it secure, despite him seeing signs that his son’s mental health was deteriorating. He faces 29 felony counts, including two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of involuntary manslaughter and numerous counts of second-degree cruelty to children.
