Oil and gas industry lobbyists in Georgia and other Southeastern states have launched a coalition to back the Trump administration’s push to open up the

Atlantic coast to off shore drilling. This week’s Atlanta Business Chronicle reports the “Explore Offshore” initiative says drilling for oil and gas off of Georgia could generate $270 million a year in private investment within 20 years.

In coastal Georgia, city councils in Savannah, Brunswick, Tybee Island, Richmond Hill, Hinesville, Kingsland and St. Marys have passed resolutions or proclamations opposing off shore drilling and/or seismic surveys.
