The City of South Fulton is one of the largest cities in Fulton County and one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the state of Georgia. However, the emerging city has struggled with political turmoil since being incorporated in 2017.
But now, the city’s third mayor, and first female one, Carmalitha Gumbs, is pledging a new chapter — with plans to unify the city, and rebuild public trust and accountability.
On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Mayor Gumbs talked with program host Rose Scott about her vision for the city, plus her top priorities, which include hiring a new police chief, boosting economic development, and hosting listening sessions to hear directly from constituents.
