To many in the film industry, an Academy Award nomination is the highest honor one can achieve. For a pair of childhood best friends from Chamblee, it’s become a reality.
Documentary director Ryan White and producer Jessica Hargrave are nominated for an Academy Award in the category of “Best Documentary Feature” for “Come See Me In the Good Light,” a film about poet and activist Andrea Gibson.
The documentary follows Gibson as they come to terms with a terminal ovarian cancer diagnosis. It depicts how Gibson turned those tragic circumstances into a story about joy, humor and love alongside their wife, poet Megan Falley.
