Partnerships: PBA Channel 30

Public Broadcasting Atlanta (PBA) will promote and highlight the American Graduate: Let’s Make it Happen and Systemic Health Initiative in Education through student, parent, and teacher voices on our PBA media outlets. Public Service Announcements, peer-to-peer interviews, and interviews by PBA’s news producers will air on our media outlets.  These initiatives will promote staying in school as well and also show that kids need healthy lifestyles and good nutrition to help them stay alert and learn in school.

Programming aired on PBA TV-30:

“A Community Concern” is a documentary about people who refuse to accept the system’s failures and are working for change.  Their spirit, passion, and commitment show that when organizers, parents, youth and educators work together, they are successful.  This documentary is scheduled to air on PBA TV-30, on June 2, 2012, from 8-9pm. Viewers will be directed to a guide that describes how individuals and/or communities can take action and get involved.

“Designing Healthy Communities,” is a PBS series and describes what it truly means to build a healthy community. This one-hour documentary will air on PBA TV-30, on June 18-19, 2012, from 11pm – 12am and again at 12am – 1am.  This series are episodes that explore how our built environments, from large cities to small towns can help or hurt the public health. Public Health experts are coming to the conclusion that where we live affects our health.

APS Cable Channel 22:

“Vita Motion” is a health and wellness promo. Vita Motion is a 5-minute promo that promotes exercise through child-friendly animated characters. The promo has been airing since March 2012 and will continue through May 2013, and it airs daily during the morning, afternoon, and evening.
