The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two inmate deaths in the last three months at the county jail.

On Saturday, 40-year-old Jamie Henry died in a holding cell. She was being transported to Fulton County.

Yolande Lovingood-Moore, the jail’s public information officer, said it’s rare to have deaths at the jail.

“We definitely find that it is very odd that is has happened two times,” Lovingood-Moore said. “It was actually odd when it was just the first time but in both cases they appear to be totally different. She was there less than 24 hours.”

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has not yet determined Henry’s cause of death.  Lovingood-Moore said they are also awaiting the results of a toxicology report.

Shali Tilson, who was 22-years-old, was found dead in his cell on March 12. The GBI said he died from pulmonary thrombi as a result of dehydration.
