Several metro Atlanta cities on boil water advisory after pumping station damage

The Atlanta Department of Watershed Management on Sunday placed a boil water advisory for businesses and residents located in Fairburn, South Fulton, Chattahoochee Hills, Palmetto, Union City and areas within the City of Atlanta from Martin L. King Jr. Drive south of I-20.

A failure at an Atlanta pumping station has led to water outages and a boil water advisory for several metro Atlanta cities, according to city officials.

The Atlanta Department of Watershed Management placed the advisory late Sunday night for businesses and residents located in Fairburn, South Fulton, Chattahoochee Hills, Palmetto, Union City and areas within the City of Atlanta from Martin L. King Jr. Drive south of I-20.

According to the department via X, residents and property owners are advised to boil all water for use of drinking, cooking, preparing baby food or brushing teeth.
