Task Force To Reexamine Georgia’s Police Training Course

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal appointed a new task force on Tuesday to examine how law enforcement officers are trained in the state. The task force is part of an overall law enforcement reform package the governor announced earlier this year.

The law enforcement task force will look at the officer training and certification course that officers are expected to take, said Ken Vance, executive director of the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council. The council certifies law enforcement officers in the state.
