Twain’s Brewpub Buys A Bowling Alley

Suburban Lanes’ doors are covered with paper for now, but the Decatur bowling alley is under new ownership and will reopen soon.

The Suburban Lanes bowling alley in Decatur  is getting a new lease on life.

The Church Street mainstay resided in Suburban Plaza for almost 60 years until it was closed after the lease on the property ended in April 2015. But the lanes have new owners who are familiar to Decatur.

Ethan and Uri Wurtzel, owners of the Decatur brewpub and pool hall Twain’s, along with Twain’s general manager Ben Horgan will take over Suburban Lanes and reopen in early winter.
