DECATUR, Ga. — Two separate incidents of hate symbols and graffiti were found at Decatur High School this month, prompting school administrators to investigate further.

The first incident occurred April 20 when a class was participating in a chalk art assignment to explore creativity, DHS Principal Duane Sprull said in a letter to parents.

“However, despite these instructions, several political and religious symbols were drawn, including a swastika, which DHS is treating as hate speech,” Sprull said.
