Arthur Blank wraps his hands around a large pair of shiny scissors to cut the ribbon on the new home for soccer in America.

“This home and this heartbeat is something I couldn’t be more proud of than I am,” said Blank.

The co-founder of the Home Depot and owner of the Falcons and Atlanta United, whose name hovers above the front door entrance, donated $50M to the project.

“For me, it’s just a blessing,” said Blank.

The United States Soccer Federation officially opened its new HQ on Thursday, just South of Atlanta. The $250 million facility has more than a dozen full-size natural grass pitches. It also includes two indoor playing surfaces featuring an indoor artificial turf training facility, a full-size futsal/power court, and more than 400,000 square feet of total facilities.
