WABE political reporters recap biggest headlines as Election Day nears

As Georgians vote in an election drawing nationwide attention, it can be hard to keep up with news even from just the past few days.

On this edition of “Closer Look,” WABE political reporters Rahul Bali and Sam Gringlas share a roundup of the biggest headlines – and what they’re hearing from voters – with Election Day under two weeks away.

Gringlas spoke from Monroe ahead of a campaign rally appearance by Republican U.S. Senate candidate Herschel Walker, who has now been accused by a second woman of paying for her abortion.

“The reason that this matters on the campaign trail is, as a candidate, Walker has taken a very stringent stance on abortion,” Gringlas said. “Back in May (he was) telling reporters, including myself, that he supports a policy that would ban abortion without exceptions. He’s softened that stance a bit since, but something that is certainly creating waves on the campaign trail right now.”
