The Broadway musical “Waitress” tells the story of a pregnant server, Jenna Hunterson — who is stuck in an unhappy marriage.

In order to work through her troubles, she takes to baking pies — but not just any pies, these come with unique recipe combinations. The Broadway play was created from the 2007 film Waitress.

Sara Bareilles, the singer-song writer behind “Love Song” and “Brave” created the original score for the production.  Atlanta native, Maiesha McQueen, who plays Jenna’s best friend Becky and Christine Dwyer, who portrays Jenna, joined Lois Reitzes in the studio to discuss the show.

This evening is the opening night of Waitress at the Fox Theatre. The play will run through Sunday, Feb. 10.
