The Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation is inviting people to recycle their Christmas trees as part of an annual environmental program.
Keep Georgia Beautiful was founded in 1978 and has advocated for community improvements to benefit the environment. Their “Bring One for the Chipper” initiative has helped to repurpose over 6 million trees.
In 2024, the group collected and recycled about 35,000 trees into mulch for playgrounds, city and county landscaping projects and individual homes. Over 3,000 were sunk into lakes to provide fish habitats, and over 6,000 were repurposed for fuel or other uses.
