Breunna Scott-Greenberg’s passion for teaching kids how to swim is driven by her late niece.

On Friday’s edition of “Closer Look,” the YMCA of Metro Atlanta aquatics director told program host Rose Scott that her  6-year-old niece drowned in 2016.

“The loss and the pain that my family felt —  if I can help one family avoid that, then you know, I’ve done something right for her, “ said Scott- Greenberg.

The mother of three was joined by Becky Shipley, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta Group Vice President, the two further talked with Rose about several topics, including drowning prevention and outreach efforts to teach Black children how to swim.
