Atlanta’s landscape is constantly changing, and in our “City Lights” series “Cheers,” we celebrate establishments that have beaten the odds and survived for decades.

Since facing possible demolition last year, the Star Bar in Little 5 Points has been top of mind for many in the Atlanta music community. The developers from that particular deal have since backed out, and for now, the 32-year-old venue continues to be a hotspot for local and national acts alike.

In this interview, “City Lights” producer Kim Drobes speaks with Julie Odom, the general manager of the Star Bar to discuss the venue’s history and longevity.
