Public health officials are speaking out in response to a group of Georgia senators voting in favor of legislation to permanently block schools and government offices from requiring COVID-19 vaccines.
On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Dr.Carlos del Rio, the interim dean for the Emory University School of Medicine said vaccinations have been effective in fighting the COVID-19 virus –and he doesn’t support the idea of banning the requirement of vaccines.
He further explained that on average between 300-500 die each day due to complications of COVID-19 and he believes now is the time to focus on getting the population boosted.
