Gov. Nathan Deal Issues Mandatory Evacuation In 6 Counties

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal Thursday ordered a mandatory evacuation for residents east of Interstate-95 in Bryan, Chatham, Liberty, McIntosh, Glynn and Camden counties ahead of Hurricane Matthew. According to a news release from the governor’s office, the order is based on a recommendation from the state’s Emergency Operations Command.

According to the Associated Press, Hurricane Matthew has strengthened to a Category 4 storm as of Thursday morning.
