The photos of Atlanta-based artist Tokie Rome-Taylor reveal themes of time, spirituality, visibility and identity. Her work largely centers on portraits of African-American children and has been shown at museums in the U.S. and abroad.
Her new exhibition, “Insight: The Body as Artifact, Archive and Memory,” is on view now through April 2 at the Hammonds House Museum. In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes spoke with Tokie Rome-Taylor about her work and the exhibit.
