Centennial Olympic Park is alight with lanterns, flowers and a 200-foot long dragon.
The decorations are part of the Chinese Lantern Festival, a first in the Southeast, according to the park’s website. It opened Friday in the South Park and will run through Jan. 15, with nightly entertainment, food, and craftsman creating edible sugar dragons, iron weaving and more.
The festival, part of the city’s continued celebration of the park’s 20th anniversary, is open 6 p.m.-10 pm Sunday through Thursday and 6p.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets start at $16 for adults and $12 for children and can be purchased at centennialpark.freshtix.com, or at the door.
