Bishop Eddie Long, pastor of a Georgia megachurch, has died, his church announced Sunday.
Long, who headed New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, had been battling cancer, the church said in a statement to multiple media outlets. He was 63 years old.
“He’s no longer in pain,” Bishop Christopher C. Smith said, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “He’s no longer dealing with the complications that he had to deal with.”
