Three organizers who have been linked to helping protesters fight against the proposed Atlanta Public Safety Training Center have been charged.

On Wednesday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Atlanta police arrested Marlon Scott Kautz, 39, of Atlanta; Savannah D. Patterson, 30, of Savannah; and Adele MacLean, 42, of Atlanta.

Georgia investigators say they found evidence linking all three to financial crimes.

Authorities say the trio, who are a part of the Atlanta Solidarity Fund, were charged with money laundering and charity fraud.

On Thursday’s edition of “ Closer Look” George Chidi, an Atlanta-based investigative journalist and publisher of the “The Atlanta Objective” newsletter, discussed the latest in the case.
