President Joe Biden is visiting Ray City, Georgia, to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Helene and meet with local officials, first responders and residents. He will deliver remarks Thursday at 4:15 p.m. EDT.
His remarks come after former President Donald Trump’s Monday visit to nearby Valdosta and Vice President Kamala Harris’ visit to Augusta on Wednesday. At least 33 people have died from the effects of Helene, according to Harris. Berrien County, where Ray City is located, is one of 41 counties in Georgia whose residents are eligible to apply for disaster assistance.
More than half of electric customers are out of power in Berrien County, according to poweroutage.us.
