Trump names Georgia Sen. Brandon Beach as next US treasurer

Update: Beach told WABE on May 6 that he resigned from his state Senate seat and started serving as U.S. treasurer on May 5.

President Donald Trump announced on his social media platform Truth Social that he wants Republican State Sen. Brandon Beach of Alpharetta to be the next treasurer of the United States.

“It’s a great honor to work in his administration and to represent Georgia,” Beach told WABE.
