Musician John McCutcheon has 45 albums, 6 Grammy nominations and has been in the folk music scene for over five decades, showing no signs of stopping anytime soon.
The acclaimed storyteller, master of the hammer dulcimer, and champion for working musicians honors a folk tradition rooted in protest, peace-mongering and human rights activism. His music stands proudly alongside that of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Joan Baez in the annals of American folk.
“Folk music, it’s been there because of the urgency for people to express themselves,” said McCutcheon. His latest album, “Field of Stars,” came out at the beginning of 2025. The artist joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to share more about his latest creation.
