The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced Thursday that they are conducting an independent investigation into a shooting by law enforcement in Bartow County that led to a 50-year-old woman’s death.
According to GBI officials, preliminary information indicates that on Wednesday night, Cartersville resident Carrie Hall allegedly arrived at a home and fired a gun. The homeowner recognized Hall and alerted Bartow authorities.
At about 8:40 p.m., deputies, with assistance from an officer with the Cartersville Police Department, located Hall’s vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop. Hall exited the vehicle armed with a gun and reportedly did not comply with verbal demands to drop her weapon.
