Radio host and producer Roman Mars is known for shedding light on often overlooked elements of architecture and urban design. His latest book, “The 99% Invisible City: A Field Guide to the Hidden World of Everyday Design,” continues that trend.
The book is a culmination of years of research for Mars and explores such questions as “why you don’t see metal fire escapes on new buildings?” or “what do those bright squiggly marks you see on sidewalks mean?”
Mars joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to discuss his book and his creative process in writing it.
