Current and former employees of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services say we’re now at a crisis point for Americans’ health with Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at the helm.

Following the Aug. 8 shooting at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Atlanta headquarters, many HHS workers became outspoken against what they called harmful “politicized rhetoric” by Kennedy and members of Congress.

Now, there are calls for Kennedy to resign or be removed from office. More than 1,000 workers representing nearly every HHS Office signed a letter after a sudden leadership change at the CDC, layoffs, and vaccine recommendations that experts called “dangerous and unfounded.”
