Immigration raid at Georgia Hyundai factory tests state's longstanding relationship with South Korea

Last week’s raid at the electric vehicle battery facility under construction near Savannah is testing the state’s – and the country’s – deep ties with South Korea. 

Companies spent decades building relationships in the U.S. and investing billions in new factories here. Georgia has maintained an economic development office in Seoul for decades, and Gov. Brian Kemp has visited South Korea multiple times since he’s been in office.
